We sent them all formats of old videos, dating as far back as 1987 and they digitized all of it. This was a project I’ve wanted to do for years and looked for places to digitize all my old images and videos but never found one place that would do it all. Also, both of them are exceptionally patient and spent hours updating us, helping us manage all the images after sending everything to us. We highly recommend family archivists to anyone!

I have been carting around tubs of photos, birthday cards, newspaper clippings, and artwork that my daughter has created. These are all very special things to me, but I had no way of viewing them unless I wanted to dig through the chaotic jumble inside my tubs - and I did not.

I also didn't like the physical weight of the tubs and how much space they were taking in my home. Each time I saw them I would sigh thinking to myself..."you've got to do something with all of that stuff..." I had around 60 family photos that I wanted to have digitized so that I could make a photo album for a family member. The photos were from the early 1900's to the late 1960's. Some of them had been kept in photo albums that had those sticky cardboard pages with a plastic film over them, while others had also been-at some point in time-taped into an album. This method of storing photos caused damage of varying intensity to the images; although I wanted some level of retouching done, I was also mindful of the potential cost.

I contacted the Family Archivists and heard back within a day. I explained what I wanted and my interest in having some of the photos retouched. Rachel explained that they could copy the photos first (which was a flat fee per photo), show me how they looked, and then discuss retouching the images (which was billed by the hour). I appreciated that my only commitment was the flat fee per photo and I had full control over whether or not I wanted to proceed with the image repair.

I dropped off the photos and, about a week later, they were ready for viewing over Zoom. Morgan discussed each image and the level of retouching necessary to make it look its best. I decided on how many hours I wanted him to work on my project and asked him to focus his talents on the more recent images, from the 1950's and 1960's, because these had more sentimental value to me.

I received the finished products today, and I am delighted with the results. I am amazed at how Morgan was able to revive faded and spotted 100-year-old images, some of which were on their way to extinction. It's also touching to see the freshness in my 80 year-old-mother's adolescent face, which had been discoloring slowly over the years. I highly recommend the Family Archivists to anyone who wants to preserve the visual history of their family for the generations to come. Rachel and Morgan are easy to work with, flexible, and produce excellent results.

Rachel and her husband are my digital earth angels!! They are truly so skilled and absolutely and obviously love what they do. They resurrected a 1989 VHS tape of me on the Price is Right with Bob Barker. It is priceless! They digitized a clip of my deceased grandma and deceased mother, that I will cherish forever. My kids got to see that their grandma had black hair back in the day!! I was even able to see glimpses of the home that I grew up in. It was like walking back in time. They did an awesome job organizing and editing our picture collection down to a reasonable archival state. Everything was preserved and saved, but only the best parts take up digital storage space. Really a wonderful experience getting all of our parent's photo albums archived and presentable.
