Digital Photo Organizing
$85 per hour
Every organizational project is different and we never really know what the client is giving us until we can dive in and take a look. What may seem like a small straight-forward project can balloon into a much bigger project for a variety of reasons. Are there lots of images? Are they spread out amongst multiple devices, computers and hard drives? Are there multiple cloud accounts? Were the cameras set with the correct date and time? Are there a lot of duplicate images? Conversely, what may seem like a giant mess may not be that complicated or time consuming to organize. Because of all the different variables, it’s hard to give accurate estimates.
Once we start working with your collection we will have a better sense of the time needed to complete your project. We will have check-ins with you throughout the process to keep you apprised of our progress and how we are meeting your goals. We will never work hours above and beyond the original estimate without pre-approval from you.
Basic Estimates
Level 1
$425 for 5 hours (approx. 10,000-20,000 image files):
1. Organization of images into chronological order
2. Consistent and Individual File Names
3. De-duplicating
4. Back-up and security recommendations
Level 2
$850 for 10 hours (approx. 10,000-20,000 image files):
1. Organization of images into chronological order
2. Consistent and Individual File Names
3. De-duplicating
4. Deleting Trash (memes, screenshots, blurry images, etc.)
5. Back-up and security recommendations
Level 3
$1700 for 20 hours (approx. 10,000-20,000 image files):
1. Organization of images into chronological order
2. Consistent and Individual File Names
3. De-duplicating
4. Deleting Trash (memes, screenshots, blurry images, etc.)
5. Metadata Added: Keywords, Facial Recognition, Location Tags
6. Back-up and security recommendations
Physical Photo Organizing and Archival Storage
$85 per hour
We will organize your prints, slides, film negatives and discuss best practices for preservation, restoration and archival storage solutions. Archival storage and preservation supplies sold separately. For pricing on restoration services please refer to the Digitization section below.
Digitization
2D Item Scanning up to 8x10 = $0.50 per item ~ Over 8x10 = $1.00 per item
We will digitize your collection of prints, slides, film negatives, photo albums, scrapbooks and other family memorabilia such as letters, recipes and greeting cards—creating high quality digital files that are easy to share with friends and family. Each digital file will be adjusted automatically for basic exposure and color inconsistencies and then given a unique file name.
3D Item Scanning $85 per hour (2 hour minimum)
Do you need to digitize something 3 dimensional like trophies, figurines, collectibles, sports memorabilia, etc? We can digitize those items using professional gear and lighting techniques so that treasured collection always looks good.
Digital restoration $85 per hour
We also offer high end digital restoration (or retouching) services just in case you need to give that old image some extra love. We will consult with you about how much work is to be done per piece as well as file output solutions to reach your goal.
Video tapes (VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, MiniDV, Hi 8, etc) $25 per item
Dust off those video tapes and we’ll digitize them to a high quality H.264 file in mp4 format.
*Please note, we do charge a $10 per tape fee if they need to be cleaned. Unfortunately the magnetic tape medium is susceptible to mold buildup.
Film reels (8mm, Super 8, 16mm) $0.20 per foot ($20 minimum)
Do you have movie reels? We can digitize them to a high quality H.264 file in mp4 format.
*Please note, we do charge a $10 per reel fee if they need to be cleaned. Unfortunately film is susceptible to mold buildup over time.
Audio cassettes/micro cassettes/LPs/CDs/DVDs $15 per item
We have the facilities to also digitize your analog audio recordings into high quality mp3 files.
Most digitization projects require one to hour hours of prep work (removing images from albums, cleaning images, etc.) at $85 per hour.
